What type of the air is used in the brake? The compressed air is used. The air that is kept under the pressure is called compressed air.How can an air stop a train?A big train!

Yes, it’s the air that makes the brake works. The air is powerful. When the air is pushed in a narrow space, it is pushed in all the directions. In the train, the air brake sends the compressed air to the brake cylinder, where the air pushes against a piston.
