Id-e-Milad is a festival of both rejoicing and mourning. The festival of Id-e-Milad popularly known as Barah Wafat. The twelfth day is one of the important festival, in the Muslim calendar. The day commemorates the birth and also the death anniversary of Prophet Mohammed S.A.W.S. It falls on the twelfth day of the third month Rabi-ul-Awwal of the Muslim calendar, which is usually in September and October. The word ’barah’ signifies the twelve days of the Prophet’s sickness. During these twelve days, priests and learned men deliver sermons and Quranic texts in mosques, focusing on the life and noble deeds of the Prophet. Velangani Festival: -

Velangani is the name of the place where Virgin Mary appeared before a shepherd and asked for milk for baby Jesus in around 1560AD. Later she cured a lame child. Over the ages Velangani has acquired a reputation of curing diseases. It can be called a place of miracles.  Velangani is located on the Coromandel coast in  Tamil Naidu. It is one of the holiest Christian shrines in India. To commemorate the miraculous escape of the  Portugeuse sailors, every year a fascinating festival  (29th August- 8th September) is held here. Pilgrims from all over the country and even abroad flock to the  site, bathe religiously in the sea, have their heads shaved,  (the hair later being auctioned by the priests), and then walk on their knees or roll up to the shrine, lending a unique Indian touch to the entire ceremony. The shrine also has its share of Hindu pilgrims.

Great Givers of Knowledge

Children 5th September is teacher’s day. Dr Radhakrishnan became President of India, some of his friends and student went to meet him.
They requested to celebrate his birthday but he said,” I would be proud if you celebrate Teacher’s Day.”
This is the reason why we celebrate teacher’s day on 5th of September
Children and teacher go to school as usual but they do celebration.
It is the day of honouring teachers and their long lasting contributions.
We say,” Guru Govind Doou Khare Kake Lago Paye? Balihari Guru Apne Govind Leo Batai.
I am in a fix whom to salute first teacher or God? I shall choose teacher as he is the one who instrumental in
me in knowing the God.
Do you know children, Lama means teacher.
