Following is a process of making a house.

  • Select the area according to your comfort and budget.
  • Once you have selected the area you may contact either a broker or the owner of the land.
  • The person who measures the land is called surveyor.
  • Before proceeding you ask the land owner for proper government document proving the ownership
  • After purchasing you transfer the land to your name in government record by proper legal document called Sale deed. Which you have to register with sub-registrar.
  • Now you can apply proper authority to get permission to construct a house with the help of drawing made by architect
  • Once you have decided the amenities you want in your house like Kitchen, Bedroom, store room, study room etc.
  • You can also consult Vastu-Shastri to balance all the elements like water, air, fire, light in your house.
  • The architect will put your requirement on the paper in the form of construction plan. It will also show elevation means outer look of your house.
  • In case of big project they make a model of a house.
  • The final construction plan has to be approved by town planning authority of your area.
  • Legally you need to leave some free space on each side and the construction plan must show that it will be strong enough to stand against earth quakes or other natural calamities. The free space is required to help you out in case of fire in the house.
  • Now you can select the contractor who will make a house with the help of the labours using various materials like cement, sand, bricks, stone, steel.
  • First the excavation of the earth is done to make the steel column at various distance which will take the load of the house. These steel columns are filled with the mixture of cement, sand, and water.
  • You can add certain chemicals to increase the strength. After column the walls are made. During making of wall frames for doors and windows are put in which you can put doors and windows afterwards.
  • Now it is the time to make the roof of your house called slab. It is also made first by steel frames joined together which is then filled with cement, sand and water. Here you can add some water proof chemicals in it.
  • The particular slab has to be completed in one time to avoid joints.
  • Now the plumber will give you the pipeline for water and also for drainage of water. It will drain into septic tank. It is nothing but a big pit to collect the drain water.
  • The electrician will give you the required electric supply with the help of electric wires, cables and switches.
  • The flooring can be made by tiles, marbles, granites as per your choice.
  • Now is the time for interior decoration. You can select the different types of paints for inside and outside of the house. You can make false ceiling and false walls with the help of Plaster of Paris.
  • In which you can put different designs to give the elegant look to your bed room, drawing room etc. The carpenter will make cupboards, wardrobes, doors, windows, tables, chairs, beds, sofa set, dinning table etc as per the guidance of interior decorator.
  • Now you can decorate your house with the help of interior decorator by putting curtains, chandelier, show pieces, paintings.
  • Now the house is ready but before shifting into new house you have to offer some puja for the blessing of God.
