SPIRITUALITY
PURITY

A great Philosopher Socrates said, ” I pray thee, O God, that I may be beautiful within.” Children are the creatures who are beautiful from within but when they start engaging themselves in bad deeds like telling lies, saying bad words, hurting others, beating, bluffing, jealousy etc. Slowly and gradually they start moving away from the path of purity.

Children, to be pure, we need to do good deeds. When we are born, we are pure. As we grow, anger, greed, ego have complete hold over the soul.

But What is Purity? Is it only purity of Mind and Body? What about purity of soul? But Some people ignore it.Let’s understand these three things:-

Purity of Body
Purity of Mind
Purity of Soul

Purity of Body: -
It can be achieved through health, diet, exercise etc. Health depends on what we eat, exercise, bathing, cutting hair & nails, action performed. In Diet, vegetarian food is good for sound body. Exercise includes brisk walk, jogging, yoga etc. This keeps the body in good shape and healthy.

Purity of Mind: -
Our mind is a bundle of thoughts. Mind is attacked by number of thoughts. Thoughts can be positive or negative. Negative thoughts damage while positive thoughts have calming effect over the mind. With Good deeds, we can attain purity of mind.

Purity of soul: -
Soul controls the body and mind. Ultimate purity of mind and body can be achieved by connecting it to the soul. We can connect our body and mind with the soul through meditation , yoga, following discipline, reading holy books, visiting pilgrims, chanting, tapa, fasting, giving service to others and of course by doing good deeds. With purity you can live a healthy and happy life. Write down some of your impurities which you think you have in yourself: -

Write down some of your impurities which you think you have in yourself: -

Congrats! You have accepted your impurities. The one who identifies and accepts the impurities will climb half the ladder of purity. Once you have identified, now you have to convert it into purity. And yes, purity is very much necessary in life. If you progress in the path of purity you will progress in everything.

Adulteration:
Would you like to eat the sweets in which paper pulp is mixed? Do you know that saw dust is mixed in the chilli powder. Do you know people sell papaya seeds instead of pepper seeds.? Water is added in the milk? These are the few examples. There are so many things which are adulterated- pullulated by adding things in the pure food. Don’t you think it is unfair to do? Is it fair to cheat people? No, not at all. This happens because of lack of honesty and thoughts about others. We should be honest, should not cheat anyone for our selfish purpose. One should protest against adulteration. If you come across such things, you should stop it or at least do not eat or use such adulterated food as it is harmful and unhygienic.
