VENUS! It is the planet named after Goddess of love and beauty. Love is the most beautiful word. Love always brings people together. You should have love for yourself, your family, nation, friends, animals, neighbours, plants, flowers etc. Spread love as much as you can. The world prospers and progresses with love and peace. Venus is covered with thick layer of carbon-dioxide gas and sulphuric acid, which reflects sunlight to make it as shining star. It can be seen before sunrise and after sunset so it is called morning or evening star.
It is a rocky planet and the second planet from the sun.
Similar in size, density and mass, Venus and Earth are referred as Sister planets.
It is slightly smaller than the sun.
The rotation of Venus is very slow. A day on Venus is longer than years.
It comes closer to Earth than any other planet.
The first photograph of Venus, taken by Venera 9 (Soviet Union).
The first spacecraft to visit Venus was Marnier 2 (USA) in 1962.
The period of Venus’s rotation and its orbit are synchronized in such a way that it always presents the same face towards the earth when the two planets are at the closest approach. Whether this is a resonance effect or merely a coincidence is not known.
It rotates in opposite direction from other planet. It is the only planet that rotates in clockwise direction.
It has no moon
It has no magnetic field.
More volcanoes than any other planet. Not known whether these volcanoes are still active
Its axis hardly has any tilt at all. If it had a thin atmospher, planet would have no season
